Only 48% of girls in rural Kenya have the opportunity to go to secondary school.

Upendo School and Children’s Home, located in Murang’a, Kenya provides a home to 39 orphaned girls and education for over 100 children from the local community. Since 2002, Upendo has cared for orphaned girls and is working towards their goals of self-sufficiency by purchasing a grain mill and building a fish farm to generate revenue from the local community.

Upendo plans to construct and operate a secondary school and dormitory to allow for the orphans and other children from the community to continue their education. Tuition fees from local students will support the operational costs of the school and additional agricultural projects will feed the growing number of children at Upendo.

Donate now to help Upendo become self-sufficient and provide a quality education for the children of Murang’a.
